Things that you need to check before checking in a hotel with family this holiday season


It is the time of the year when everyone is in a holiday mood and though a mom your wishes are not much different.But if a vacation with family having babies or toddlers give not so happy signals on your mind,a little bit of planning ahead would surely help in the long run.
After you have decided for the place to visit, the next thing that you need to search for is a family friendly hotel.And the next question is what is a family friendly hotel?So here I am to jot down a few of the facilities that should be available in a hotel to be a child friendly one.

A child-friendly restaurant-
Food is something which comes as a top priority in  a parent's mind,when you are travelling out of home with your kids.So before moving in a hotel,don't forget to see whether the restaurant has less spicy ,mashed up and other healthy food options for your little ones and how flexible the timings are.They should also have reheating facilities as children tend to cool down their food taking their own time to eat.High chairs available inside the dining area would be helpful making the kids sit in one place and even take a bite from your plate.
Staffs to look after your kid while you have the perfect brunch serves as an added advantage.

A child friendly room-
What counts as a child friendly room?Apart from the basic amenities, a child friendly room must have perfect heating and cooling system for maintaining a comfortable temperature,a refrigerator,a microwave,baby cots and minor yet necessary items like plug cover,non slip door mats,plastic plates,bowl and cutlery,indoor games ( the list never seems to end for a mom i guess!!).
The room should never be located near a night club or an in house entertainment area,if you don't wish for a cranky kid the next morning.Car seats and strollers  available in the hotel itself saves you from carrying extra luggage while travelling. 

A Play area-
A hotel with a play area(indoor as well as outdoor) with proper supervision allow you to let your kids play while you enjoy a romantic dinner or a rejuvenating spa session meanwhile.Baby sitting facilities are also available in some hotels with prior notice.During my last trip,I was in a hotel which even had an in house pool area and saw kids having a gala time out there.Sounds great,isn't it??


A kid's club-
Kids love to do new things during holidays and it is when they are at their creative high.So enrolling them in some new activities like cooking classes with the chef,art and craft workshops or any new sport like horse riding arranged by the hotel is  surely a new and innovative concept.You may even be surprised to see these budding talents explore a new arena,which may have remain hidden otherwise.


I guess I have put before you nearly most of things that you should know before booking a hotel,but still would love all of you to add up in this list as your valuable comments. I am sure moms are never short of ideas when it comes to well-being of their children.
P.S- Lastly,a note to moms:Even if you plan the best before going for a trip with kids,there will be something or the other that you will probably miss out.So don't think over much ,take a chill-pill and enjoy your tour to the fullest..
